''  A piece of furniture is not considered completely finished before it had gone through many finishing treatments to assure the best durability and to improve its appearance. ''

The natural dyes are the most used and are of a very old origin. They have the advantage to better capture the light. Without harming the environment, it gives an incredible range of intense tones and shades. Moreover, they are not altered by UV rays. In the old days, artisans profited from what the earth furnished them to obtain tints that are appreciated even today.

It is uncommon to feel such a great joy like the one we have in buying a piece of art which we are particularly proud of. It is what a service of furniture conception will bring you.

The dyeing modifies the wood's pigment without masking the veining, in giving it either another shade or the tone of another essence. It is right to say that the dyeing always confers the wood a more intense tone.

The dyes and paints made with natural pigments are the base of an antique finish. Also, an appropriate hardware will enhance the caracter of an antique reproduction.  It is frequent that a milk paint superposed in layers to make believe to different finishes that the furniture might have had during the course of its life.

To that, can also be harmonized a crackling effect which would have been caused by the differences of temperature that furniture could have sustain during the Quebec seasons.

The effect is ''trompe-l'oeil'' because the milk paint stays transparent, contrary to standard paint which would have totally masked the piece.
