      Furniture from ''Atelier du vieux pin'' is created with hard pine. We never use a wood substitute like MDF, agglomerate or melamine and even for non-visible parts like drawers bottom or furniture back.

 

        The cornices are also massive, they will never only be applied. Al of our conceptions of canadian hard pine of a minimum thickness of 3/4'' to 8/4'' of an inch, depending on the type of furniture to be built. To be assured of a professional finish and assembling, we perform a progressive sanding along with pre-assembling for each of the pieces.

 

      

 

 

 

A good assembling must have two important qualities: Solidity and subtlety. To do so, we use traditional assembling; grooves, tenon strips and woodendowels.

We use fish glue for our assembling. Clamps are used to tighten two pieces together by pressure with the help of ''clamp type'' and ''C-clamp'' vices.

For mouldings and grooves, we use a variety of knives to obtain diferent forms.

You can then be sure to get a variety of profiles ans grooves. The furniture from the workshop is built pieces to pieces in a traditional manner.
