(Trunk) Surely the most common piece of furniture in the 17th and 18th centuries. Generally rectangular, used to transport the common necessary objects of the new settlers in Nouvelle-France. There is a large variety of sizes; locked with a key or a padlock and is covered with leather. Occasionally, there are many stackable compartments which can be removed.
